Yunjun Gao is a full professor at the College of Computer Science, Zhejiang University, China. He received the PhD degree in computer science from ZhejiangUniversity in 2008. Before joining ZhejiangUniversity in 2010, he was a postdoctoral research fellow (scientist) at the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University, Singapore during 2008-2010; and a research assistant at the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong, China from March 2005 to July 2005. Also, he was a visiting scholar at the School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University, Canada on August 2012, and a visiting scholar at the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from July 2014 to August 2014. His research interests include spatial and spatio-temporal databases, metric and incomplete/uncertain data management, database usability, and geo-social data processing, etc. He has published more than 80 papers on several premium/leading journals including TODS, VLDBJ, TKDE, TFS, TITS, and various prestigious international conferences including SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, SIGIR, EDBT. He is a senior member of the CCF; a member of the ACM and the IEEE; an associate editor of IJSSOE; a guest editor of IJDSN. He is a reviewer of several top/important journals such as TODS, VLDB Journal, TKDE, TMC, TKDD, Information Sciences, GeoInformatica, JCST, etc.; and he is/has serving/served as a PC co-chairs or workshop co-chairs or publication chair or publicity co-chair or local poster chair or program committee member for various international conferences such as VLDB, ICDE, EDBT, SIGSPATIAL GIS, DASFAA, ICDM, ER, DEXA, MDM, APWeb, WAIM, WISE, etc. He was a recipient of the Nomination of the Best Paper Award of SIGMOD 2015, One of the Best Papers of ICDE 2015, Appreciations from WAIM 2013, DASFAA 2012, and WAIM 2010, First Award for Zhejiang Science and Technology 2011, and the Finalist of 2009 CCF Outstanding Doctoral Thesis (China).
